The U.S. Naval Academy’s Behavioral Health Department provides mental health and substance abuse services to students, staff, eligible service members, veterans and their families in the Annapolis area. Although they do not provide inpatient services, they offer outpatient evaluations as well as outpatient psychotherapy. A licensed psychologist oversees the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program, which provides substance use assessments and interventions. If the patients need specialized treatment, the Behavioral Health Department refers them to military or civilian hospitals.

St John’s College

St John’s College offers free counseling and referral services from licensed mental health professionals. The services address eating disorders and include substance abuse counseling. Students can meet therapists in individual or group settings. Students who require further treatment are referred to psychiatrists or physicians in order to receive the appropriate care.

Anne Arundel Community College

The Substance Abuse Education Office at Anne Arundel Community College focuses on educating students about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. They provide free information sessions, counseling and referral services. They collaborated with community prevention and treatment experts to provide students with educational programming, sponsored events, and classroom guest lecturing.
