What Treatment Includes

Treatment plans at The Recovery Village Atlanta are personalized to your specific needs and may include several different facets of care. Patients have access to different levels of rehab and can “step down” to less intensive levels of care as they recover.

Levels of Care

The Recovery Village Atlanta offers several levels of treatment programs to meet your needs throughout your recovery. ...

Medical Detox

Uncomfortable or life-threatening withdrawal symptoms may occur when you stop using drugs or alcohol. During medical detox, health professionals can address these symptoms and cravings to make the detox process safer and more comfortable. Around-the-clock supervision and treatment from your medical team can help lessen emerging symptoms and reduce the risk of relapse. ...

Inpatient Treatment

After detox, many clients transition to inpatient rehab, or residential treatment. This program involves intensive care and support while clients live onsite at the facility. Patients will follow a schedule of therapy sessions, medical appointments, group counseling and more. ...

Partial Care Services

Partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) are an in-between step between inpatient and outpatient care. These clients have more independence in their schedule and can choose to return home or continue living onsite while receiving care. ...

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are another transitional step between inpatient and outpatient treatment. Some clients may participate in an IOP from the start, while others may join after completing inpatient rehab. IOPs offer more intensive treatment and services than outpatient care, but it still allows clients to live at home or in a sober living community. ...

Outpatient Programming

Clients with milder substance use disorders or those coming from an inpatient program will typically participate in outpatient rehab. This program involves helping patients transition to daily life with support groups, treatment appointments and more. Clients live at home or in sober living communities and travel to the facility for appointments rather than living onsite. ...

Aftercare Planning & Telehealth

Inpatient or outpatient care is often just the first step in a patient’s recovery journey. The Recovery Village Atlanta knows recovery requires ongoing support and treatment and provides aftercare plans for its patients. This program includes follow-ups, support groups, relapse prevention plans, alumni events and counseling sessions. Telehealth services allow patients to still receive life-saving care from home, including therapy, medical appointments and more. Many continue their teletherapy sessions after treatment officially ends for a smoother transition into regular life.

Therapy & Programs Provided

Upon arrival, each client receives a medical and psychiatric evaluation, which is then used to customize their treatment plan. Our expert staff can provide different types of behavioral therapies to help you, including:
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT encourages patients to focus on their thoughts and beliefs to understand how these may relate to problematic behaviors. Realizing how our thoughts and emotions affect our behavior can help clients learn healthy ways to manage difficult emotions and life situations. By changing how patients think and behave, they can move toward a happier and more fulfilling life.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): DBT incorporates mindfulness and acceptance into CBT techniques. DBT provides patients with coping skills for difficult emotions and struggles within their relationships. Ultimately, DBT lives by the idea that acceptance and change, though opposites, can work together to improve one’s life.
  • 12-Step Program: Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous are two addiction treatment programs that use the 12-step format in their groups. The 12-step program focuses on rehabilitation through making amends and committing to a higher power while surrounded by a community.
  • SMART Recovery: An alternative to 12-step programs is the SMART Recovery program, standing for Self Management and Recovery Training. This program uses research and evidence-based practices in its four-point method to change problematic thinking and behaviors.
  • Weekly Recovery Compass: The Weekly Recovery Compass at The Recovery Village Atlanta assesses symptoms of depression, levels of anxiety, self-reported sleep quality and substance cravings. The check-in identifies and addresses possible setbacks while they are happening to help clients and their clinicians reorient their treatment.
