Why Choose The Recovery Village Kansas City?
We adopt a holistic approach to addiction treatment, considering the complete individual rather than solely focusing on their addiction. By addressing the mental and emotional symptoms that contribute to substance abuse, we target the underlying causes of addiction, fostering long-term healing and recovery for our patients.
Levels of Care
At The Recovery Village Kansas City, our collaborative team of medical professionals, clinicians, and staff utilizes a comprehensive intake assessment to tailor a treatment plan to each patient’s unique needs. Typically, treatment commences with medical detoxification and progresses through various step-down programs as patients advance through different stages of recovery.
Medical Detox
Individuals embarking on the recovery journey typically initiate with medical detoxification, during which drugs or alcohol are safely removed from the body under 24-hour supervision. The duration of medical detox depends on factors such as the type of substance used and the duration of use. Our dedicated medical team endeavors to ensure the comfort of patients throughout this process, employing medication as necessary to alleviate discomfort.
Residential Treatment
Occasionally termed as residential treatment, individuals in a residential treatment program reside at the facility to receive continuous medical care, counseling, therapy, and a variety of therapeutic activities. Collaborating with therapists and peers, patients address the root causes of their addiction to equip themselves for a fulfilling life in recovery.
Partial Care Services
Partial care programs (PC) provide patients with greater freedom and flexibility compared to full residential treatment programs. In partial care, individuals typically attend treatment and therapy sessions during the day and return home in the evenings. Typically, patients are required to complete the detox process before being considered for admission into a PC.
Intensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programming involves fewer hours of recovery programming each day, allowing patients the opportunity to apply coping strategies in their everyday lives outside the facility. Medication, support groups, and counseling continue to be integral components of the treatment plan as patients gradually transition to their regular routines.
Aftercare Planning
The journey of lifelong recovery extends with an aftercare strategy. Prior to treatment completion, addiction specialists furnish patients with comprehensive plans and resources to navigate obstacles and deter relapse. Additionally, they assist in connecting individuals with local resources such as providers, support groups, or sober housing.
As part of the personalized treatment plan tailored for each patient, our facility offers the Weekly Recovery Compass program. This initiative aids in identifying and addressing potential setbacks in real-time by monitoring symptoms such as depression, anxiety levels, sleep quality, and substance cravings.
Types of Therapy Provided
Evidence-based treatment draws upon extensive medical research and experience in addressing substance use disorders. Patients engage in one-on-one sessions with their therapist as well as group therapy sessions, collaborating with peers to develop recovery skills. Each patient’s treatment plan is tailored to their specific needs and may encompass various therapeutic approaches, including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A longstanding method for effectively treating substance use disorders, CBT empowers patients to recognize high-risk situations, identify triggers, and alter their perceptions and behaviors surrounding substance abuse to foster a healthier lifestyle.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): DBT, an adaptation of CBT, teaches individuals to acknowledge and accept stressful thoughts and emotions rather than avoid them. By learning to manage and adapt behavior in response to these emotions, patients can overcome addiction.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR): EMDR assists patients in processing and resolving trauma, aiding in their ability to cope with and separate painful emotions from memories.
Holistic Therapies: Recognizing addiction as a mental health disorder necessitates holistic treatment approaches. Patients have access to complementary therapies such as yoga and art therapy, promoting overall well-being. Additionally, family therapy, involving loved ones in group sessions either remotely or in person, may be beneficial when appropriate.
These therapies are integrated into personalized treatment plans to address the multifaceted aspects of addiction and support individuals on their path to recovery.
