Why Choose The Recovery Village Cherry Hill at Cooper?

Our approach to addiction treatment looks at the whole person, not just their addiction. Treating the mental and emotional symptoms that contribute to substance abuse addresses the root cause of addiction and supports long-term healing for our clients.

Levels of Care

The Recovery Village Cherry Hill at Cooper’s integrated team of medical professionals, clinicians and staff use an intake assessment to design a treatment plan around each client’s needs. Treatment often begins with medical detox, then transition to different step-down programs as the client progresses through stages of recovery. Below is a list of our planned levels of care to be offered when our doors open in the summer of 2020… ...

Medical Detox

Patients entering recovery generally start with medical detox, in which drugs or alcohol safely leave the body under 24-hour supervision. The type of substance used and duration will affect how long medical detox lasts. The medical staff works diligently to make this process as comfortable as possible, including medication when appropriate. ...

Inpatient Treatment

Sometimes referred to as residential treatment, patients in an inpatient treatment program stay at the facility for around-the-clock medical care, counseling, therapy and an array of therapeutic activities. Patients work on the underlying causes of their addiction with therapists and peers to prepare for life in recovery. ...

Partial Care Services

A partial care programs (PC) offer a little more freedom and flexibility than a full residential treatment program. Clients in partial care normally meet for treatment and therapy sessions during the day and return home at night. Before acceptance into a PC, patients have typically finished the detox process. ...

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programming requires fewer hours of recovery programming per day and gives patients the chance to practice coping outside the facility. Medication, support groups and counseling remain part of the treatment plan as the patient begins to transition to normal life. ...

Outpatient Programming

When ready, individuals may transition into outpatient programming. Access to counseling and support continues, but with fewer hours and more privacy. For individuals who would prefer a more structured environment while transitioning from rehab back to daily life, sober living communities are a supportive environment where they can apply their new recovery skills. ...

Aftercare Planning

Lifelong recovery continues with an aftercare plan. Before completing treatment, addiction specialists equip clients with detailed plans and tools to address barriers and prevent relapse. They may also help you find local providers, support groups or sober housing.   The Weekly Recovery Compass program is part of the customized treatment plan created for each patient at our facility. The program helps identify and address potential setbacks in real-time by monitoring symptoms like depression, anxiety levels, sleep quality and substance cravings.
...

Types of Therapy Provided

Evidence-based treatment relies on extensive medical research and experience treating substance use disorders. Patients will receive one-on-one sessions with their therapist and group therapy sessions where they work on recovery skills with their peers. Each client’s treatment plan is personalized to their needs and may include one or more of the following therapies.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: CBT has been used for decades to effectively treat substance use disorders. Clients are taught how to recognize high-risk situations, identify triggers and change their perceptions and behaviors about substance abuse to lead a healthier life.
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy: Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) modifies CBT to teach people to accept stressing thoughts and feelings rather than avoiding them. Accepting these feelings, managing them and changing behavior around them helps clients overcome their addiction.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, often referred to as EMDR, helps clients resolve reprocess trauma to overcome it. EMDR helps clients cope with trauma and separate painful emotions from memories.
  • Holistic Therapies: As a mental health disorder, addiction requires treatment for the whole self, not just the addiction. Patients will have access to additional therapies that benefit their health, such as yoga therapy and art therapy. When medically appropriate, clients may benefit from family therapy, where loved ones participate in group therapy over the phone or in person.
