We help clients in all stages of recovery and can determine the most appropriate level of treatment for you. The length of your treatment will be determined by your needs and progress, and we’ll work with your insurance provider throughout the process.

Detox

You will receive supervised detoxification to ease the symptoms of withdrawal in a safe and comfortable environment. Medically-assisted detox is available for some forms of addiction.

Intensive Inpatient

We provide intensive treatment for patients with severe cases of addiction. You’ll receive the treatment you need in addition to medical support during the early phases of your recovery.

Residential

Our residential program is designed for patients who require a structured and safe environment during treatment. After detox, you may transition to the intensive inpatient level or the residential level, depending on your condition.

Partial Hospitalization

When you’re ready, you may wish to increase your independence during treatment. Our partial hospitalization program allows you to receive treatment by day and go to a sober living environment at night.

Intensive Outpatient

If you need to live at home during treatment or when you’re ready to step down from partial hospitalization, our intensive outpatient program allows you to access intensive therapy during the day and return home at night.

Psychiatric Evaluation

All of our treatment programs begin with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. You’ll receive an extensive assessment to help determine the type and level of care appropriate for you.

Individual Therapy

You’ll attend up to three individual therapy sessions with a certified therapist every week. Individual therapy will help you understand the underlying causes of addiction and the steps you need to take to achieve recovery.

Group Therapy

We provide multiple group therapy sessions every week. You’ll be introduced to each step of the 12-step theory during group therapy, and you’ll have access to multiple client-focused group sessions every week. We coordinate gender-specific and age-specific groups as well as groups focused on relapse prevention and eating disorders.

12 Step Meetings

12-Step Meetings

Detox and residential clients have access to facilitated 12-step meetings at our center. We also help clients in the Partial Hospitalization Program gain access to 12-step meetings in the community, which are occasionally held at our facility.

Psychoeducational Group

All of our clients have access to psychoeducational groups, which educate them on topics such as nutrition and life skills or stress management and relapse prevention. We also offer classes focused on introspective therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.

With your permission, we’ll keep your family members cognizant of your status throughout treatment. We’ll also facilitate family therapy during face-to-face or telephone-based sessions.

We provide evidence-based, specialized treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder. Our experts will perform a comprehensive assessment and develop a treatment plan designed to address your needs.

You’ll receive multiple individual therapy sessions every week. We use proven therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy to alter responses and reactions to traumatic memories.

You’ll also have access to group therapy sessions with other clients recovering from PTSD. Group therapy can help you learn to overcome feelings of shame, guilt, anger, or fear and build self-confidence.

Our Facility

Located in beautiful Palmer Lake, The Recovery Village is surrounded by stunning views of the Rocky Mountain foothills. The 58-bed facility is licensed by the State of Colorado and the Office for Behavioral Health. It’s located along the scenic Santa Fe Trail and sits conveniently between Denver and Colorado Springs.

Comfort by Design

Everything we do is designed to ensure your comfort and safety. We provide transportation for out-of-state and local clients. We also provide well-balanced meals prepared by a private chef, and a dietitian is on-site to work with patients with eating disorders.

The housing at The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake is designed to facilitate healing and relaxation, offering exquisite amenities and decor for your convenience and well-being.

Food and Nutrition Services

We ensure you’re ready for the day by serving several breakfast options prepared with your health and nutritional needs in mind. Selections vary by day but usually include pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, bagels, cinnamons rolls or muffins.

Lunch begins at noon with a choice of a protein or a sandwich, a side and a soup or salad. Enjoy your choice of a turkey and cheese spinach wrap with house chips or a salmon fillet with romaine, parmesan cheese, croutons and the soup of the day. Another day may offer your choice of cheese manicotti or pork chop with mushroom sauce, rice, broccoli and a mixed green salad.

Healthy, delicious dinners may include your choice of stuffed cabbage rolls or lemon pepper catfish with roasted potatoes, rice, mixed vegetables, a mixed green salad and a dinner roll. On another you night, you may have a choice of seared cod fillet with remoulade sauce or chicken breast with mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, green beans, a garden salad and a toasted baguette.

Rules and Chores

The rules and policies at our facility were developed with your well-being in mind.

Age

We treat only clients ages 18 and older.

Cell Phone

Cell phones are not allowed at the facility. You’ll receive access to a telephone during non-clinical hours after your first 72 hours at the facility.

Laundry

We’ll help you with laundry during early phases of treatment, and you’ll be provided with a laundry schedule when you transition to residential and partial hospitalization levels of care.

Housekeeping

Our professional housekeeping team will perform housekeeping duties during detox, and you’ll be encouraged to keep your living area clean as you transition to residential or partial hospitalization programs.

Smoking

Smoking is allowed in designated areas. However, it is prohibited during therapy or wellness activities.

Wellness Program

Our facility possesses exercise, meditation and other therapeutic areas designed to aid in your recovery. We also provide daily activities as a part of our wellness program.

Meet the Team

Dr. Kevin Snyder, Medical Director

Dr. Kevin Snyder, Medical Director

Dr. Snyder is a certified psychiatrist with experience providing extraordinary care to patients at Cedar Springs Hospital, Aspen Pointe and the U.S. Army base at Fort Carson. He’s also worked in the forensic psychiatry department at the Colorado Mental Institute in Pueblo. Dr. Snyder specializes in treating co-occurring mental health disorders like depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, PTSD and bipolar disorder.

Duke Rumely, Community Relations Coordinator

Duke Rumely, Community Relations Coordinator

Duke Rumely is the Community Relations Coordinator for Advanced Recovery Systems with a focus on Colorado. He’s worked as a financial advisor, a Market Manager for NASDAQ, and as an interventionist at a nonprofit treatment facility. With a personal familiarity with long-term recovery, Rumely has spoken about his experience at several conferences. He’s a resource for families and health professionals.

Board-certified psychiatrist Dr. Batterbee belongs to the American Osteopathic Association and the Colorado Osteopathic Association. A graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Batterbee strives to provide patients with personalized treatment and a caring environment for healing.

Karen Eagle helps support, guide and direct the treatment team at The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake. She’s dedicated to making sure patients receive the best care possible, and she helps develop treatment plans and continued-care support. Eagle has a master’s of science in marriage and family therapy and past experience working in the treatment field.

The lead contact for the admissions and intake process, Charlie Bateh works with patients and their families to develop the best possible solutions to admittance to The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake. He has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and sales and years of professional customer service experience. Bateh has a passion for connecting patients with proven treatment.

Kelly Shearwood prepares tasty, all-natural and healthy meals for patients at The Recovery Village at Palmer Lake. She’s an award-winning chef with a degree in catering and hospitality. She has experience working in health care and was previously the executive chef of Mozaic restaurant. Shearwood’s meals include nutritious, balanced and local ingredients.
