The recovery process doesn't end after 90 days of treatment. The transition back to life outside of rehab is fraught with the potential for relapse. Purkiss employs evidence-based approaches, such as dialectical behavioral therapy, to help treat clients dealing with eating disorders.
Christina Purkiss is a licensed mental health counselor and certified eating disorders specialist who has worked with individuals with eating disorders, mental health conditions and substance use disorders.
She worked at the Center for Drug Free Living while earning her Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology from the University of Central Florida. After graduating, Purkiss interned at the Center for Child and Family Wellness at Florida Hospital. While contributing to the hospital’s Healthy 100 Kids program, she provided individual, group and family therapy for young people ages 6 to 18. She also hosted workshops to promote positive body image among children and adolescents.
Purkiss’ private practice at White Picket Fence Counseling Center is located in Winter Park, Florida.
