Narconon Fresh Start - Drug Education

Tony Bylsma - Director or Drug EducationNarconon Fresh Start's purpose and mission is to handle drug and alcohol addiction and we do this by providing the most effective drug and alcohol treatment in the addiction services field and we have taken on a higher level of responsibility by preventing our youth from starting down the road to addiction.

You might say that we are the only drug rehabilitation program in the world that would be very happy to be putting our rehabilitation services out of business through our drug and alcohol prevention programs.

We truly understand the need for our addiction treatment services and therefore, we understand how difficult it is to arrest addiction and resolve the underlying issues that surround it. We have over a hundred trained staff, dedicated to addressing one of the most difficult tasks a family can face– to free their loved ones from the grip of drug and alcohol addiction. Understanding these difficulties, reminds us of how important it is to help our youth by supplying them with useful information that can help them avoid falling into the trap of drug abuse to begin with.

Our drug educators are certified addiction specialists that have many years of experience in the drug rehabilitation and prevention field. They have been drug free themselves for many years, but they, at one time, had to face and overcome the negative consequences of substance abuse themselves, so students tend to trust their first hand experience.

Our drug educators have received thorough training on how to deliver our Truth About Drugs lecture series. They do not just use scare tactics, which students can perceive as untrue, either from their own experience, or from what they have heard from their peers.

Instead, the false information and drug myths that they may have heard from their peers are addressed and replaced with the real facts about drug use.

Roger Davis - Narconon Drug EducatorThe cycle of addiction is explained to them to show how the negative consequences are not observed by drug users in the beginning, but escalate over time.

It is shown that people that starting using drugs are never truly aware of the dangers at first, because they have not experienced any of them yet, so the information they have is not totally correct or complete. Therefore, we give them the correct data on drugs, so they can start to think with it for themselves and decide not to start using drugs.

Our drug educators have delivered drug education to over 600,000 students, arming them with the information they need to win the battle and stay drug free!
